Sherry

Sherry is originally from St. Louis, but she has lived in Herrin for many, many years. She is a Registered Dental Hygienist and received that degree from SIU-C. She has been in the Ortho/Dental field in Southern Illinois for over 40 years. In March of 2009, she joined the Childers team as a Treatment Coordinator.

Sherry is married to Bill and they have two wonderful boys, Nicholas and Brendan. Nicholas is a Geologist, he and his wife live in Washington. They welcomed the first grandchild in May, 2024!!! Brendan is a Registered Travel Nurse, he lives here, there and everywhere. Their only “child” at home now is their dog Dolly. Stephanie

Stephanie has worked for Dr. Childers since 2006. She graduated from John A. Logan College Dental Assisting Program in 1998. She started as an orthodontic assistant, took over as Records Coordinator two years later, and became a Treatment Coordinator in 2012. Stephanie loves getting to know all of the observation patients who are seen every six months, until they are ready to begin treatment. Stephanie lives with her husband, Aaron and daughter Maddy. Her brother, Davie, also lives with them who has special needs. She enjoys spending time with her family, cooking, and spending time outdoors.

Denice

Denice has over twenty years of experience at Childers Orthodontics. Denice has worked for Dr. Childers since 1993 and is a certified Dental Assistant and a Certified Orthodontic Assistant. She moved from Southern Illinois in 1994, but returned the next year to continue working with Dr. Childers and marry her husband, Michael. Denice and Michael have three children. Grace, 16 months later Josie, and ten years later, Jake. They have 2 dogs, CeCe and Bella, and an adopted stray cat they call Kitty Kitty. Denice stays busy going to her children’s sporting events. She also enjoys snow skiing, boating, jet skiing, running, a lazy day poolside and an occasional good book. Denice also loves DIY projects. Denice’s favorite thing about working with Dr. Childers and his awesome team is their sincerity to offer the best experience from the moment a patient walks into the office. Denice truly believes there is NO other office in the world that can compare. She loves to watch orthodontics change a person’s self-esteem. denice@childersbraces.com

Misty

Misty has worked for Dr. Childers since 1999. She is a John A. Logan graduate and is a certified orthodontic assistant. Misty works with patients in the clinic and has the pleasure of training all of the new clinical assistants. She was born and raised in Southern Illinois. She lives in Benton with her husband Justin, her sons, Asher and Drew, and their boxer Gracie. In her spare time she loves to travel, go to concerts, cheer on the Chicago Cubs and spend time with her family and friends. Susan

Susan joined Childers Orthodontics in 1999 and is a certified Orthodontic Assistant and was a clinical assistant for 18 years and is now the Records Coordinator. Susan also does ordering for the office and manages inventory. She graduated from Benton Consolidated High School. She and her husband, Randy, live in Benton. They enjoy traveling, especially to visit their children and grandchildren. Susan likes to cook, garden, going on bike rides, shopping and just relaxing at home with family and friends. Her favorite thing about her job is seeing the beautiful smiles we create here at Childers Orthodontics and enjoying good times with her co-workers! | susan@childersbraces.com

Savannah

Savannah has worked as an assistant for Dr. Childers since 2012. She graduated from John A Logan College in 2010. She is a Registered Dental Hygienist as well as a Certified Dental Assistant. Working in the dental field has always been her goal, although she never thought she would fall in love with orthodontics the way she has Savannah lives in Herrin with her husband, Cody, and their children, Darcy and Layton. They enjoy spending time outdoors, traveling, and attending church. Spending time with family is also very important to Savannah; together she and Cody have sixteen nieces and nephews. There is never a dull moment with so many kids around! Working with patients of all ages and seeing smile transformations are some of Savannah’s favorite things about her job. She loves looking at the before and after pictures and seeing the great results that Dr. Childers provides for every patient.

Heather

Heather started working for Dr. Childers in 2016 as an orthodontic assistant. Heather grew up and currently still resides in Benton with her daughter Hazel. Heather enjoys spending time with family and friends. She also enjoys shopping, cooking, and watching movies at home. What she enjoys most about working at Dr. Childers office is seeing the familiar faces from the area, especially those from her hometown. She loves seeing the before and after pictures. Heather said, “The staff is funny, caring and have made my experience here very enjoyable! I hope to be here many years!”

Audra

Audra joined the Childers Orthodontics team in 2021. Her daughter was a former patient of the practice. She is a SIU graduate and spent 20 plus years in the field of medical imaging before joining the team. Audra grew up in West Frankfort and now lives in Herrin with her husband, daughter and her dog Sugar. When she isn’t working she enjoys cooking and spending time with her family and friends. Audra enjoys working with an awesome team and caring for their patients. Her favorite part of the job is seeing how a beautiful smile can change someone and give them the confidence they didn’t have before.

Lucinda

Lucinda joined the Childers team in October 2021 as a Treatment Coordinator. A graduate of JALC and SIU-C, she has lived in southern Illinois her entire life. Currently, Lucinda lives in Carterville with her daughter, Keri, granddaughter, Audrina, and their spoiled fur babies, Dixie & Stella. In her free time, Lucinda enjoys watching her granddaughter play softball as well as watching baseball and basketball – Go Lions! She also enjoys flower gardening, working on projects for her home and spending time outdoors. Lucinda enjoys welcoming and meeting new patients and seeing the amazing results Dr. Childers and the Childers Team bring to all their patients. “The atmosphere at Childers Orthodontics is friendly and inviting and I am delighted to be part of the team helping Dr. Childers. It is very rewarding.”

Trisha

Trisha joined Childers Orthodontics team in October of 2021 as a new face at the front desk. She has over 12 years of experience working in the Dental Field.Trisha was born and raised in Herrin, where she still lives with her daughter and dog Jasper. In her free time, she loves growing flowers, kayaking, cooking and spending time with her family.Trisha’s favorite thing about working for Chiders Orthodontics is her amazing co-workers. As a team we help people of all ages love their smiles.

Alissa

Alissa joined the Childers Orthodontics team in 2022 as the new Financial Coordinator. She grew up in Benton and now lives in West Frankfort with her husband Greg, their two huskies, and one cat. She loves spending time with her family, hanging out with her pets, and enjoying the outdoors. Alissa is a former patient of Dr. Childers, and loves seeing patients getting the same great care that she received as a patient here years ago.

Breeze

Breeze has wanted to work in the dental field since middle school and knew Childers Orthodontics was where she wanted to work after being a patient herself. She completed the Dental Assisting program in North Carolina in 2018. Breeze starting working for Dr. Childers in August 2019 as a Clinical Assistant and now works as the Lab Technician as of 2024. She resides in Benton with her husband Marco and her sons Apollo and Lochlan. Breeze enjoys spending time with her family and her dogs, Phoebe (Goldendoodle) and Dory (long-haired dachshund). Breeze enjoys being outdoors, reading, and listening to audiobooks.

Mazie

Mazie has worked for Dr. Childers as an orthodontic assistant since February of 2024. She grew up in West Frankfort, Il, but currently resides in Christopher, Il. Mazie graduated from Frankfort Community High School in 2020 and then went onto complete the Dental Assisting Program at John A Logan College and graduated in 2021. She had wanted to work in the Orthodontics field for a while, but decided to work general dentistry for her first 2 years out of college. Mazie has a Golden Labradoodle named Mooney. On Mazies days off she likes to lay out in the sun. She also loves to spend time with her family, especially during football season, bake, and catch up with friends. Her favorite part of working for Dr. Childers is the positive energy through-out the office, and getting to see familiar faces all the time!!

Candace

Candace has worked for Dr. Childers for two years, starting in June 2022. She graduated from John A Logan dental assisting in 2021 and spent almost a year in general dentistry, before switching to orthodontics. She enjoys seeing patients throughout their smile journey. In her free time, she enjoys relaxing with her three dogs and going on jeep runs in the summer.

Emily

Emily started working for Dr. Childers in February of 2024. She was born and raised in Sesser. She graduated Rend Lake College and went on to earn her bachelor’s degree from the University of Southern Indiana. She enjoys spending time with friends, family, and her blue heeler, Azzi! “I am excited to meet new patients and help build their beautiful smile!”
